Dr. Kenneth Spaeth, Medical Director, Occupation & Environmental Medicine

Ken Spaeth, MD, MPH
Director
Dr. Spaeth serves as Medical Director of the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Center at the North Shore-LIJ Health System. He holds board certification in Internal Medicine as well as Occupational and Environmental Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency in the Department of Community Medicine at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Spaeth did his training in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the Harvard School of Public Health where he also completed a master’s degree in Occupational and Environmental Health. Prior to joining the health system, Dr. Spaeth served as an attending physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Selikoff Center for Occupational and Environmental Medicine as well as the World Trade Center (WTC) Medical Monitoring and Treatment Program. Currently, he serves as the lead faculty on all occupational and environmental health-related curriculum at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. Dr. Spaeth has co-authored two medical textbooks in the field of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.Dr. Spaeth served on the EPA’s Region 2 expert panel on PCBs in Schools.
